I thought I'd give an update! We have been so busy since the kids got out of school. In just a few short weeks it will be time to return. Praise the Lord, our friend's, The Jeffries, house is done! We helped move them in over the 4th of July. We were all commenting on the fact that now we can do fun stuff on the weekends! Like say, take a motorcycle ride. We are so happy for then and they have been a tremendous blessing to us. We have done a few more home "spruce ups" as you will see in my slideshow. Our 2 remaining projects for the summer are to paint our formal dining room and also add a chair rail and crown molding and stain our front porch. The highlight of our summer was going to Camp Canaan. Our church hosts a camp for 4th -12th graders. D and I went as counselors. It was hot but everyone had such a good spirit. The preaching was tremendous and I know my children made some decisions about serving the Lord. It's a great blessing as a parent to see the Lord "break your child's heart". I know my kids are saved and they love church but sometimes you wonder if they "love" God. Well, the week at camp showed me they LOVE God too. We divide the children up into teams as fairly as possible (this one is strong in BIBLE, this one is good at sports, kind of thing). Then the counselors pick a random number and you get the team attached to that number. We didn't get Devin but I am happy to say that his counselors chose him as camper of the year. And guess what?! Mariah's counselors chose her as camper of the year too. Needless to say, we are proud parents and thank the Lord for the loving, kind spirit our children have. Mariah is going on a missions trip next week. Sixteen teens and plenty of chaperones will be heading to Boston to help a small IFB church host VBS. They are going to do some singing and neighborhood Bible time type things in a local park too. They will also get to learn alot of Baptist history. I know they'll have a great time. Well, that sums up summer! Love y'all.
