(Mariah and our dear friend Andrea
We've done a lot since the last time I posted. We had a wonderful Christmas season. Lots of friends, food, fellowship and fun. On Christmas Eve we had friends over. Mariah's friend Katie is a Christmas baby so I made her a cake for dessert. I made a beautiful 3-layer from scratch chocolate cake with chocolate fudge icing. It was soooo good. On Christmas morning we leisurely opened gifts and then went to another friends at lunch time, we came home about 4 pm and had dinner guests. An elderly couple that sit in front of us at church.
The Monday after Christmas, Mariah and I took off for a youth winter retreat. We had an amazing time. There was so much for the kids to do. It's similar to a fine arts competition. Pastor Dave McCoy and Pastor Eric Capaci were the speakers. Mariah entered so many events ~ 2 nd place in Bible Teaching, 2 nd place solo, 1 st place ensemble, 1 st place choir, 2nd place Bible quizzing, 2 nd place basketball, 1st place Romans Road Relay. I think she got a 3 rd in something but it slips my mind right now. Our youth group had the most overall points so we won the Top Youth Group trophy.
We got a beautiful piano so I've had to rearrange the furniture, the kids went back to school today. Dinner is in the crockpot and the house is clean.
